Venice   Veneto  (Italian Veneto, Veneto veins ..) – one of the 20 regions of Italy with a population of about 5 million people. The administrative center and the largest city in the region is Venice.
Venice, in the framework of the Republic of Venice, in a thousand years was an independent state. After the Napoleonic Wars, Congress of Vienna republic was annexed to the Austrian Empire, and in 1866, as a result of the Third Italian War of Independence, was transferred to the Kingdom of Italy.
Today, Venice is one of the most developed regions of Italy. It has a rich historical, natural, cultural and culinary heritage, which is why the area is the most visited in Italy, taking about 63 million tourists every year (2011).
